My 2024 Summer Wardrobe Edit

This season’s wardrobe edit is coming a little bit late (okay, maybe a lot), but it’s for a good reason: I got married at the beginning of July! My partner and I finally tied the knot after nine years together. It was such a fun and special day filled with good food and surrounded by close family and friends. We certainly felt very loved! We just did a small backyard ceremony, but it still kept me very busy towards the end of June. So even though I had already organized this edit and selected the items a while ago, I wasn’t able to format it into a blog post until now.

But that also means I’ve already been putting this capsule to the test for a few weeks, and I’ve really been enjoying it. We’ve been having such beautiful weather here! Aside from one very hot day, it’s been pleasantly warm with lots of sun. And since we had so much rain in spring, everything is still looking very lush and green. As much as I’m enjoying the beautiful summer we’ve been having, we all know I’m a fall lover at heart and I think that comes through in the pieces that I’ve selected for this wardrobe edit. So a lot of these pieces will still be appropriate as we transition into the cooler months as well.

My Summer Staples

When it comes to my summer wardrobe, there are a few staple pieces that I always ensure to include that carry me through the season:

Shelf bra tanks

Two sewing patterns I’ve been loving for these are the Paradise Patterns Sommar Camisole and the Elbe Textiles Weiland Tank. These are so easy to throw on and because they have built-in shelf bras, I don’t have to wear an uncomfortable bra that sticks to me and gets sweaty in the heat. They’re also perfect for layering under button ups and light sweaters.

Breezy button-downs

I have a few of these in cotton and linen which are great for the warmer months. They’re easy to throw on over a tank or wear on their own to look a little more put together while staying comfortable and relaxed.

Linen pants

These are my favourite bottoms to wear in summer. They’re light and breathable so they help me stay cool while keeping me covered.

Light sweaters

I know including sweaters in a summer wardrobe can be a bit polarizing, but I still like to have some layers for the cool mornings and evenings. They’re also great for working in an office when the air conditioning is on full blast. I’m just a cozy autumn girl at heart so if I can sneak in a snug layer in a cotton or lightweight wool, you know I will!

Comfy walking sandals

These ones from Poppy Barley are great because the insole is so comfortable, so they work for long walks and errands while still keeping my feet cool. Plus, they look cute!

Without any further ado, let’s take a look at what I’ve included in my summer wardrobe edit!
