My 2024 Fall Wardrobe Edit

Hello and welcome to my favourite article of the year: my fall wardrobe edit! I’ve been so excited to put this one together. I’m not sure why, but I was especially looking forward to the fall season this year. As soon as we had a day that was chilly enough, I layered up in my favourite sweater and haven’t looked back since!

That said, this wardrobe edit was actually quite difficult to put together because there were so many pieces that I wanted to include, and I had to really think about which ones would make it in. Generally, my closet is a lot larger now than it has been in a while. It’s crept up on me, and it’s starting to get to the point where I feel overwhelmed again. I love sewing and knitting, but over the past couple of years these hobbies have definitely added more pieces to my closet than I can wear. Moving forward, I want to be a lot more intentional about what I’m choosing to make. I also think a round of decluttering might be in order, so let me know if you’d like to see any articles or videos with more details on my process for that.

In the end, I landed on these 32 pieces which I think make a perfectly cozy and functional wardrobe for fall. There are plenty of opportunities to layer, which is top priority this time of year. The colour palette is very basic with colours that I would consider all neutrals: black, creams, browns, and blues. I do love a pop of colour sometimes, but neutrals are definitely my comfort zone and this is the season where I usually lean all the way into that.

You can check out what pieces made it into my fall wardrobe edit below!

  • This is so inspirational! Thank you for putting so much care and thought into this post. I’ll find in useful in sorting out my own choices.

  • I always look forward to your capsule edits! I use them to inspire my own. I am finding myself in a similar place with regard to me-made items accumulating over the years and wardrobe size becoming overwhelming. Especially as I’ve embraced mending. I need to stop thrifting broken clothing for the sake of rescuing it. I would love to see content on how you declutter. I’m also curious how you store clothing that’s not included in the current capsule.
