4 Jewelry Brands I Love for a Little Something Special

I consider myself to be a very indecisive person. I’m constantly second-guessing myself and the choices I’ve made. My personality type (INFJ) also says that I’m a dreamer: someone who can see a lot of possibilities, but has trouble picking just one path.

However, I’m proud to say that I know exactly what I like when it comes to one area: jewelry. As you may already have noticed, I tend to stick to more dainty, minimalist pieces on a day-to-day basis. I also like high quality gold jewelry; it comes at a higher price point, but it’s much more durable and less fussy to care for (read: I don’t like to have to take off my jewelry when I shower.)

Because jewelry (especially higher-quality pieces) are more of an investment, I also find that they feel more special when I wear them. My capsule wardrobe might be basic, but a few meaningful pieces of jewelry can really help it feel more personal to me.

So in today’s article, I thought I would share some of my favourite jewelry brands. I’m a fan of these companies not only for their beautiful designs, but more importantly, for their sustainable and ethical practices. Not just because the holiday season is coming up, but because I believe we all deserve to feel special with a little something every day.

Aurate New York

Aurate is an NYC-based brand that offers high-quality, sustainable pieces made with ethical gold and diamonds. They focus on classic, clean designs. While their pieces are an investment, they strive to offer fair prices by selling direct to their customers and making all of their jewelry to order (which saves on inventory costs as well as waste.)

I am especially a fan of Aurate’s collection of Gold Huggie Earrings. I’m not normally one for larger hoops because I’ve always found they don’t suit me. So huggie earrings provide a similar style, but with a more minimal and sleek profile which I love. I feel like their huggie earrings would pair perfectly with a simple set of studs for the perfect everyday earring stack.

Mejuri

Mejuri is a long-time favourite jewelry brand of mine (they get points for being Canadian, too). I discovered them long before I started blogging, and still wear their pieces every single day (a peridot chain ring I bought myself, and a flower necklace Jason bought me for my birthday). I get so many compliments on both of these pieces. I can really attest to their quality, and I just love all of their designs as well. Lately I’ve been lusting after their Diamonds Line Mini Hoops. As always, you can save 10% off your first purchase at Mejuri when you shop through my link.

Valerie Madison

I discovered this company thanks to a recent video from House of Aesthetics on YouTube. Valerie Madison is a Black/Latina-owned fine jewelry company based in Seattle. All of their designs are crafted from high-quality precious metals from recycled sources, which is so cool. Their engagement rings are pretty much to die for, but they also have a beautiful collection of fine jewelry for more everyday occasions, with price ranges to suit any budget. I especially like the simplicity of the Gold Circle Necklace and feel it’s a piece I’d get a lot of wear out of.

Edge of Ember

The final brand I wanted to share is Edge of Ember, a London-based ethical jewelry designer. Their mission is to create timeless and personal jewelry for everyday wear. They are an all-female team which is awesome to see, and they also offer a jewelry recycling programme. About a year ago I splurged on a pair of their Tiny Circle Sapphire Stud Earrings and I wear them every day, so I’m definitely getting my money’s worth.

I hope you enjoyed this article. What special pieces of jewelry do you wear every day? Let me know in the comments below!
